Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:35, 37.
I was just thinking that really there is no other failure than the failure that exists within. You never really fail until you fail on the inside of yourself. When you begin to believe you are a failure, you become what you believe yourself to be. Your own self-defeating, negative, pessimistic thinking will make you a failure. It does not matter how many times you unsuccessfully attempt to achieve or overcome something, you are not a failure until you begin to believe yourself to be a failure.
But humans are endowed with the capacity to overcome overwhelming odds. All those struggling to rise in faith and hope always have God on their side. We are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. God and you can move mountains. The realistic Christian is ready for momentary defeats, but he never goes into permanent retreat. As long as you refuse to give up, you are still in the running. As long as you pick yourself up from a fall, dust yourself off, learn from the experience, and bounce back, victory still remains a possibility.
There may be endeavors that do not work out, but that does not mean you are a failure. If you give up on yourself, on God, on life, and on others, failure is inevitable. The important thing to remember is that no one can make you believe in yourself. This, you must do yourself.
Almighty and most merciful Father, help me to overcome my insecurities and fears by filling my mind with positive thoughts and my life with positive action. Sweeten my attitude O God, and grant that my life breathe the fresh fragrance of Your Spirit through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
